Server Build - Local Network Connection

If you are connecting to your server on the same local network, things couldn't be easier. Since all computers are connected to the same router you just need to put in the IP address of the machine that is running the server build. This IP address needs to be placed into the Network Address field of the EMI_NetworkManager. This could be done at runtime via a user interface of some kind, or you could do a simple test and add it in the Unity Editor you're testing with.

Once that IP is in there, simply connect and you should be good to go.

Connection Timeout

If you get a connection timeout it means one of two things.

  1. The computer running the server build has a firewall blocking you or a anti-malware client (or something similiar) blocking the traffic.
  2. The router is blocking traffic to the machine running the server build
